What are some basics of the M3 tactical light for Glocks with accessory rails?

I gather that M3s are made by more than one company. Is one manufacturer's product better than another's?

Does the M3 affect the reliability of the pistol in any way?

How about durability?

The Gilbert, Az Police Department issues Glock, either the 22 or the 23, and an ITI M3 TacLight to all of their officers. I haven't heard any of the officers I know talk of any problems caused by the light.

The M3 was originally manufactured by Insight Technologies, which was bought out by Streamlight. I have sold several of these, with no problems reported. They are $115.00 each if interested. Thanks!
