Just when I had decided on a M25-13 S&W in .45LC, Blue, alongs come an offer for a M29 Moutain Gun, Blue, .44 mag. Never heard of this one. I though all .44 Mountain Guns were in stainless? Anybody know what era this is from? Any changes from the M29 to the M25-13 that are significant?
Thanks!

Bob

Saw a blue 45LC Mountain Gun yesterday at the local shop! Very nice. Also saw a SS 29 snubbie "Lew Horton Special" today. What a trigger!!!!

Stay safe.

The Model 29-8 Mountain Gun came out early 2002 I think. It was made up of the leftover frames from the limited Heritage Series. It was the first blued Mountain Gun made.

Well, I thought I could help. My Standard Catalog of S&W ends at 10-2000, and those letters aren't listed there. It may be that the M29 Mountain Gun was made in 2002 like previously posted. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

M29 Mountain Gun purchased

Thanks all for the information!

Have bought it and should get it in about two weeks.
Will post pics if anyone is interested and give a report after I take it to the range.

Nice pic. I had a 4" M29-3, but I traded it to a friend. I carry my handguns too much and SS holds up better for me. So. I kept my 4" M629-1. I even gave my 29-2 6-1/2" to my father. Not because I didn't like it, but he really liked it, and he's my Dad. It's not like he's never given me a gun before!
