M24's will still be used

The M24 is a Remington. The Savage comment was a dig to the Savage guys in here who are always dissing Remingtons. :D Where are the Savage military sniper rifles? There are none, LOL. :D

Dig all you want, I have a Savage and a Remington!:D

Last time out with my XCR Compact Tactical it put 3 rounds of Nosler 168gr Competition into 1.25" @ 300 yds. No slouch. However, the Savage is right there with it. Both box stock guns.

I wonder what the Savage military sniper rifle number is...

BA 10/110 WOULD BE THE #

There was interesting discussion that came into account at the hide comparing custom actions to the AI action. And then the 700 was brought up. We all know the AI is ridiculously hard to stop running regardless of conditions. But surprisingly a lot of custom actions were reported failing because of tight tolerances. So once dirt or grit accumulated in the action it would fail, triggers also. Frank mentioned something that i never though of, the loose tolerance of the 700 allowed it to operate with dirt/grit in them. He also noted that he believes accuracy lies within the barrel more so than the action, which i'm starting to believe also. But action vs action (between Savage and Remington) i give edge to the 700 just because it's tried in true in many theaters of war and horrible conditions.

Not exactly true...there are some being used, sort of a trial run.

FWIW, I'm not a Savage guy thats just trying to push Savage on anybody...I'm a Winchester guy myself after getting fed up with Remington.

You may or may not find anything about it online....but it IS true, they are issuing Savage rifles. Even if nobody believes me, when you do find out its true, remember where you heard it. ;)
