M24/47 Bayonet

Historically accurate when? When the rifle was first introduced, converted, or when was in storage?

Any of the 1924 or 1948 bayonets would be “correct.” Both bayonets fit any of the rifles. The 47 and 52 conversion processes were done to keep the M24 in service, and was done while the M48 was being produced. So, while a 1924 bayonet wouldn’t be “correct” for a M48, it would fit and possibly be on someone’s issued M48 (when they were issued). Any of them could be issued to the older rifle.
I checked the Branko book, and the only part about converting bayonets has to do with some 1924 bayonets being made from German surplus bayonets... which have German markings, with Yugo acceptance stamps. Never saw anything in regards to a modified 1924 to 1948 pattern, so I believe they were issued at the same time. If a 1924 bayonet from a M24(/47 or /52) got damaged beyond repair, it likely just had a 1948 bayonet added... since those were still being made.
So... really comes down to what length do you like.
