M1Carbine vs. Body Armour??

Well, isn't the M1Carbine just the talk of the town all of the sudden?

Question:

Level II (IIA) body armour, will that block a shot from the .30 Carbine? Yes, no?

If so, I would definitely be more inclined to use the caliber... .45ACP won't. At 5lbs (less probably if you put a synthetic stock on it..) it's handy.

Question 2: Anybody know how much weight the Carbine is with a synthetic stock?

I've never shot a person and hope I never need to. However, I've had to shoot a fair number of wild dogs and if any of them had serious body armor it would not have mattered as I was only ever aiming at the center of the skull. :eek:
 
At muzzle velocity it may, but I wouldn't bet on it penetrating at a distance.
