M1A scope mount

I got an m1a natnl match last fall(great rifle) but the scope mount (Sp.Ar. 3rd gen.)is just too darn high. I tried a pad but it seems nothing short of an m21 adjustable stock is gonna be high enough. I am not comfortable shooting w/ my cheek so far off the stock. any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I switched from the Springfield rings to a set of Burris Zee rings(low model) and built the comb of the stock up almost 1-1/2 inches using armor-flex pipe insulation and had the better half make a fabric lace on cover to go over the insulation. This worked well for me.
