Is there a way to improve the trigger pull on a M1917 Enfield without resorting to a replacement trigger?

Tht Timney replacement trigger is but $49.00 Probably the best $ ever spent on an old military rifle.
The stock trigger can be lightened but never made into what we call a "great" trigger today.

Depends on how much you want to alter the rifle. The sear engagement can be reduced a bit and smoothed up as long as neither the sear or cocking piece is stoned enough to fail sear reset.

IMHO, the trigger pull is not bad and I would either live with it or go the whole way and put on a replacement trigger.
