for about 2 years i have owned a M1917 eddystone 30-06. It has been sporterized. My question is Where can i get parts for it? I am trying to find the ejector the eject the bullet.
Thanks thats what i am looking for and i think I'll go with the coil spring where its alot cheaper. Also how can you tell if the bolt is the original bolt?
there really is no absolute proof. if it has E stamped on various insundry parts then it's more than likely original since it's an eddystone but if it's got a mix of Rs and Ws too then it was probably cobbled together. however almost all of them still have their original bolts as long as they weren't rechambered.
U.S. rifles don't have serial numbered parts, so there is no sure way to know if the bolt is original, only if the maker is the same as the maker of the rifle. If there is doubt, it might be a good idea to have a gunsmith check the headspace.
Decades ago I managed to wedge in the bolt stop a cut coil spring (trim to fit!) from a ball point pin. I was able to get it in near the front of the ejector. It has been working fine since then.
