I'm looking to get a good parts set for a mil spec 1911 frame and slide. I want good parts of reputable quality, but I haven't found much yet. I had heard that IMI was doing parts kits a while ago, but haven't seen any. If anyone has some helpful info for me, please email me. Thanks for your time.

I've picked up plenty of good parts at gun shows. Otherwise, look through Shotgun News or the Gun List. For the trick custom stuff, the ads in IPSC's "Front Sight" might help.

Try www.brownells.com. They are the source for gun parts and gunsmithing tools. For what it is worth Ed Brown parts are made as nice as anybody elses and miles ahead of most GI parts you can find at gun shows. I have found the hard way that a lot of "GI" parts are made wrong( out of spec or poor material/heat treat) and the little you save up front costs isn't worth it in the long run.
