M1152 9mm ammo

is there anything particularly special about the standard 9mm FMJ that comes with the M17/M18? I just noticed that it appears to be in the top segment of the 9mm gamut when it comes to ME (ca. 450 ft/lbs), but apart from that, it's quite ordinary, right?

I've used some of the M1152; shot it in several different firearms to chronograph and check for functional reliability. Other than the high velocity, it does seem ordinary.
