M10 Magazine in the P7M13

I don't drink, but I must be drunk. Please delete this post, or move it. I apologize. I don't think that this is a burning legal, or political topic.

No problem, Gary. I figure you were so excited (like I was) that L&P was back up that you just had to post something. :)

Moving to Hanguns and Pistolcraft Forum. Look for it there.

I had a P7M13, and was told by an H&K armorer and also a trainer for LE Division that this was acceptable. Said that they were the same mags. Changing followers would be pointless, as the ones in my M13 mags were identical to the M10. Fired 200rds thru the M10 mag before I carried it on duty. The best part: New M10 mags $70.00 Used M13 mags $100.00+.

Here in California, all high capacity magazines are off the shelf. I’m not aware of any statute that prohibits the use of legally purchased magazines. Does anyone know of a statute that prohibits the use of 9mm in a .40 magazine? Perhaps this post did belong in the "Legal and Political" area.

Using the magazine in your duty gun is a strong vote of confidence. Thanks for the feedback :)

I'm sure the federal statute states that a mag is illegal if it is ALTERED to accept more than 10. Therefore, if you did change the follower, whether it had any effect or not, the mag could be said to be altered. If it is a stock M10 mag, I don't believe that there is any law against using a .40 mag in a 9. I've read that poeple do this with USPs, and I even read on sigforum that a guy had all 3 barrels for a 229; 9, 40 and 357SIG. He claimed to have fed 40s reliably from a 9 mag.

If you live in a non-free state it's probably illegal to carry more than 10, but in a free state, I don't see a problem.
