When I was changing the clip ejector spring in my M1, I found that the hammer spring housing was cracked longways between the clearance window and the open end.
I can't see where anything contacts that area, nor is it put under stress when assembling/disassembling. Does any one know if that's a common occurence, or how a part like that can be subject to any kind of abuse that would cause it to crack?
