M1 carbine codes manual

Any ideas on a good manual (book) that lists the manufactures codes on all the different components (parts) of the M1 carbine a well as the M1 Garand?

A good Carbine book is "The War Baby" by Larry Ruth.

Another is "U.S. M1 Carbines, Wartime Production" by Craig Riesch.

A very good one that does both the M1 and the Carbine is "Complete Guide to the M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine, by Bruce N. Canfield.
Canfield writes a lot of articles on US military arms for the NRA American Rifleman.

All can be bought on Amazon and often on Ebay.

War baby is an expensive book for collectors, The other one by Craig R. has distilled alot of that code/maker information to a small paperback without lots of info on how to service your carbine, etc. So if you want to take the thing apart you should get some of the reproductions of GI manuals in paperback. You can spend some big money on carbine books if you really want to know everything. Then again there may be websites with quite alot of the info but I don't know them all right now.
