55 views and no replies? I haven't heard a release date for the compact version of the 2.0 but no doubt it's coming. What I would do B-Deck is look back at how long it took for the first M&P Compact to come out after the full size version. That should give you a rough estimate.
The release of the compacts are coming and I would guess around the corner. If I were in your situation OP, I would wait for the release so that you could at least try it out. If the current M&P9c still appeals to you (excellent gun by the way, I have one) they might be had at a discount. Just my .02.
What is keeping you from getting one now?
-If trigger, get a cheap Apex kit.
-If barrel get a Bar-Sto, or KKM barrel either drop in or smith fit. Sotmr Lake may make them too fr the compact.
I have one. I have no complaints. Its not as accurate as my M&P Pro or Beretta full size but its not meant to be. The trigger is just fine for a CC once you run about 500 rounds through it.
If you are not comfortable then Both Springfield and Glock have nice alternatives as well as a plethora of others.
