Ladies and Gentlemen...
I believe we have that rifle now.
The .50 BMG which we will be using for the Maadi-Griffin Bob Stewart Legal Defense Fund is here, somewhere, in Arizona (I ain't saying where).
Even better, the raffle pie has been sweetened by the kind offer from the good folks at Thunderbird Cartridge. It seems the proprietor there is well acquainted with the lieing bastards at BATF. He was prosecuted by them not once but twice. He won both times. I'll tell you his story later.
Anyway, T-bird cartridge has donated 50 rounds of new .50 BMG. The note inside the box says "660 Gr. Ball New Ammunition." If it were mere surplus it would be worth, what, $ or $5 each? Hell, I don't know. Call it $200 worth of ammo. Right about now is when I wished I was eligible to get in this raffle.
The FFL who is transfering the kit (Hell, it may not be a kit anymore for all I know) is trying to get a donated scope for it as well.
Unbelievable.
Okay, the drawing date has been moved up. It will now be September 20th at 7pm here in Phoenix. We will be using the ocassion to not only raffle off the rifle but also to begin something we have called "TUG" or "The Umbrella Group." It is simply several separate pro-rights groups getting together for the sole purpose of activism. NRA, GOA, SAS, WAGC, JFPF, Brassroots, hunting groups and even non-gun groups such as anti-income tax groups, if they want. This is not for entertainment. It is for activism. If you have a plan, you concisely present it and see how many people in the group you can convince to lend a hand on your diabolical protest, or anti-gun-buyback or letter-writting campaign or city council mobbbing or whatever. Lots of gunnies are willing to have some fun, they just need leaders. Others are leaders who need some worker bees. Symbiotic, dude.
Then TUG evaporates until the next meeting. Think of it as an Articles of Confederation for the liberty movement.
The drawing and TUG meeting will be held on September 20th at the Country Harvest Buffet in Tempe, Arizona from 7pm to 9pm. You need not be present to win.
