Hi guys I saw a M14 Springfield at my shop. It has a federal arms reciever on it. They also have a Norinco copy of this rifle. Now are they any good? The Real Springfield is $1500 or so. They said the norinco guns are a crap shoot. The Federal Arms are pretty good and have never had one returned after someone bought it. The fit and finish on th FA seemed a bit better than the Norinco. Thanks for any help,45automan

I could have bought one of the clones but I didn't.
Springfield's M1A is the real deal buy the loaded package.
You wont be sorry you did.

Umm, if that's a Federal Ordnance receiver, run, don't walk, AWAY! Take a visit to http://www.smithenterprises.com and http://www.fultonarmory.com for a rimer of reveivers. The Norincos are apparently great, but the bolts aren't any good. Others are using the bolts w/no problems...Either way, the Norinco receivers are well respected, even by the high-level smiths. However, they want to the rest of the Norinco rifles.

That's not a Springfield Armory M1A. If it was, I'd say buy it. Springfield Armory M1As have Springfield receivers, which are fine. Federal Ordnance receivers are not fine. Run away. If you want an M1A, save up your pennies and get a true Springfield Armory.
