Lyman vs. T/C quality?; Lyman Plains pistol?

Question; How does Lyman quality compare to T/C? I have never owned a Lyman, but have had numerous T/C's, BP and smokless, and love them all. I find T/C to be one of the strongest, toughest guns around. But the Lyman Plains pistol has caught my eye, and I'm wondering if anybody here has one, and if so what do you have to say about it? I'm also tossing the .50 vs .54 question around as well. The .54 is bigger, but I already have a ton of .50 balls/patches on hand. I'm looking at hunting small/medium game, perhaps bigger if I found a VERY accurate and powerful gun/load combo.

TC is hard to beat. I put Investarms (Lyman) products close. Don't know anything about the Plains pistol. TC gets the nod all things being equal. IMO

I bought a Lymans 50 caliber last year at this time. A nice gun, very accurate also. Fun to target shoot with or hunt.

.50 caliber is plenty good. Having balls/components on hand is reason enough to pick it. The lyman plains pistol is a quality product with complete support from Lyman Products online store. I've had a Great Plains Rifle since they came out and it is problem-free. My plains pistol is extremely accurate and easy to shoot

Fps= feet per second. Grains/Volume refers to a charge of replica powder thrown from a measure calibrated for the designated weight of black powder.

I have a couple of Lymans, but no TCs. Not that I wouldn't buy TC, but they didn't cater to southpaws at the time I wanted some things.
