Lyman Quick Slick Spray Lube

This stuff seems pretty handy.
Just wondering, after spraying cases, how long does the lube remain effective? Minutes? Hours? Days?

I use Hornady one shot lube.

If I understand your question.

I spray it onto my brass just before sizing.

Never sprayed it on and resized latter.

I believe the instructions say wait a few minutes for Hornday.

I think Horandy evaporates in 10 - 15 minutes, not sure on the Lyman, it should not be an issue putting it on and then sizing.

I think someone said Lyman said to cut their with water, have not tried that.

I actually apply both - Hornady for overall and the Lyman adds a bit more slick, but as little as I can dispense. Otherwise case dents.

Lyman Customer Service

Thanks for the inputs.
I posed the same question to Lyman Customer Service, and they responded almost immediately: "The spray lube, once applied to the cases, should stay on for about a day or 2 and will evaporate if left much longer than that."
Good to know, so that when I'm working on a batch of 200-300 cases, it's okay to interrupt at any point, like for dinner or overnight.

I know what Lyman customer service said but if you leave them overnight , carefully check them before resizing for lube. A stuck case will mess up your day and I would rather be safe than sorry. Unless the lube is a wax base after 12 to 24 hours I would be suspect of enough it remaining on the cases .
I've only stuck one case in a die and I didn't enjoy that little experience .

Using it too soon can be an issue too, though. GTNMUDY is doing the opposite of what is usually recommended for One Shot, which is to be sure the carrier has had plenty of time to evaporate. One Shot contains a dry film lubricant called DynaGlide, and if it is still suspended in its carrier, it can be wiped off the case during sizing. Complaints about stuck cases with One Shot abound, and they always seem to turn out to have resulted from immediate use after spraying.

I don't know if the Lyman product uses anything similar, but a carrier will still be a substance that thins it for spraying. I would let it sit at least half an hour to be sure the carrier is gone before I used. You may be able to smell a difference and use that as an indicator.
