I read a write-up on these, did a bit of research, got a good deal on Amazon ($80 off) and got it in this week.
Its more than worth the price.
The picture on the screen is clear, camera is very good, light is more than adequate even at the lowest settings.
Screen is easy to use and more than sufficiently clear.
It clearly shows if you have copper or carbon and where it is.
All too clearly it shows the process that forms the groves and lands and that unless you are aware of it can be unsettling.
Not much difference seen between a Savage, Shilen and XC Barrel.
WWII and WWI Mode of 1917 barrels reflect the workmanship of that era and is rougher but amazingly good and relatively speaking not that much worse than current.
Most interesting to see various gray nodules in the bore as well as little craters.
The only real downside is the capture to a file is poor (you give up something for the price). Files are small, resolution is poor.
You are better off taking a good resolution picture of the screen.
