Lyman 57 receiver sight question

Experts,

I have a nice Winchester model 72 bolt action 22LR with the base for the Lyman 57 sight which is marked 57EW. The prior owner must have lost the slide assembly which he had to remove to use the scope (it is drilled and tapped for Weaver bases).

My question is - are all Lyman 57 slide assemblies the same, or does each base have a unique slide? I have taken the slide assembly from my Remington 521T rifle, base 57RS, and it fits the 57EW base just fine.

Help me narrow down my search for this part.

Thanks,
Tom

AFAIK, all Lyman 57 slides are identical, save that some are "long slide" & others are the standard or shorter version.

Have you called Lyman, to see if their Service/Parts Dept can hook you up ?

.

Note that newer Lyman receiver sights are made of aluminum, not steel as used years ago.
I don't think this will affect fit.
