I have been lurking around this forum for some time now and thought I would add my 2 cents worth.
I am a shooter and frequently take classes and buy about all the books and videos that I can afford. My primary shotgun is the 11-87 Police and have put about 6000 rounds through it and about 2500 through the 870. I recently discovered a shotgun book that is absoluetly astounding in value. The book is by Jim Crews and is called Some of the Answer, Urban Shotgun. I have other books on how to use the shotgun but this one is by far the most detailed user's manual I have ever seen. I have taken a few shotgun classes and feel pretty good about how to use the shotgun but his book has shown me so much more about gun handling and applying the shotgun that the other books out there do not even come close. His book covers things that were covered in some of the classes like slinging, mounting, stances, loading, unloading, reloading, tactically selecting your load, transitioning to the handgun, etc., etc. His section of patterning of the shotgun and choking is the best I have ever seen too. I think that any serious shotgunner ought to take a look at this book because it is well worth your money. He has a web site www.marksmans.com and he has other books on the site. Have any of you gotten any of his other books or have any of you taken a class from him?
