Luger P08 magazine question

What is the story on the plastic ended mags .. Luger I am looking at has the mags with no serial numbers.. They are old and original as they came with the gun as a vet bring back and have been in storage for decades.
Luger is a BYF 42
 
Standard Catalog of Luger (Davis) says that for Mauser byf code 42 date the magazines should have a blued extruded steel body and a black plastic base.
They should be marked "fxo" and "P.08" and should not be otherwise proofed or serial numbered to the pistol.
