This is Lucky Buck. I shot him Friday morning. "Why?," you ask is his name Lucky Buck. Well, here's the story. I arived late to my stand friday morning. I work at a bank so thank God for federal holidays (Veterans day). Well I hadn't seen anything for a while so I decided to walk an access road to a cotton field where I have shot deer before and seen one the week before. I had walked about half way to the field when I saw a small doe in the road. She had no idea i was there so I droped to one knee and watched her for a while. I remembered someone at work had asked me if I would kill them a deer so they could get the meat and I agreed so I decided to take her. Well the perfect shot presented itself when she put her head down and turned broadside. I put the crosshairs on her at about 75 yards and squeezed the trigger I followed through on the shot and she ran away. I MISSED!!!! I couldn't belive it. How could I have missed? When I turned the corner there she went blowing and huffing and healthy. Well to make a long story short I started to walk back to the truck and passed my stand. On a whim I decided to walk the firebreak The runs by my climber and to another pecan orchard. I got about 20 yards into the firebreak when I saw a tail hopping off. I got my gun ready and eased around the corner and there he was. I only saw antlers. I quickly raised me rifle and aimed for the neck and squeezed. I knew I didn't miss when he didn't even step. He just folded. I shot him at only 15 yards and the old a bolt .308 with winchester super X did the trick. The first place I took him was to the taxidermist. The pics are a little dark and One is GRAPHIC but hey we're all hunters right. I couldn't get the pics to uplaod directly to the site. So this is the best I can do.
