I guess my first thought is,,,
What can you see looking down a barrel?

My second thought would be,,,
Was this a hang-fire that delayed the ignition?

Sent shudders down my spine to see that video.

maybe cartoons arnt so bad for children after all...

anyone whos seen tom and jerry or loony toons can tell you how that one is gonna end.

Just unbelieveable that anyone would be stupid enough to look down the barrel of a gun you know to be loaded...and lucky enough to get away with it.

Sent shudders down my spine to see that video.

Brought back a bad memory for me. I was sitting on the deck over my Dads bar after closing. The guy across the street was all messed up drunk stoned who knows. Anyway he had a co2 gun was shooting at a pop can. No hits so he turns the gun and looks down the barrel and pulls the trigger. Shot his eye out.

More blood than I ever saw leak out of a person, he tore off his shirt and tried to plug the socket to stop the bleeding.

I called 911 then went to help, tried to just calm him down.

He almost died right there. His name is Darwin too but it isnt funny.

What caused the delayed ignition I wonder,,,

Was it a simple hangfire?

Could the shotgun have been a teeny amount out of battery,,,
Then slipped into battery as he tapped the butt on the ground?

I'm very curious about that.

What a moron!! I can't believe that scene. He nearly succeeded in removing his genes from the gene pool permanently. What every possessed him to look DOWN the BARREL of a loaded gun? Unreal. What did he think he would see?

..."What did he think he would see?"...

And we use the term THINK here very loosely...

As many of these as I see on the web... To realize that just a tiny tiny fraction of ADs & NDs happen to be videoed... It boggles my mind to think how many there must be worldwide every day... week... year...

Doesn't it make you wonder what people are thinking?

Oh, lookie hyar. Ah kin shoot them bottles from 10 yardz. Uh-oh! Dernital! Gun din't go bang! Ah wunder wuts in the barl?? Wah, lookee hyar! Whytarnationthathurtz!

Not to sound insensitive, but it's a good thing we don't always get what we deserve.

I'm leaning towards it being a fake. Either that or this guy was more of a total and complete moron than first glance suggests.

He only misfired on the last bottle.
He set up a camera to record himself shooting bottles from five feet away with a SHOTGUN
He looked down the barrel of a loaded firearm while filming himself

He looks down the barrel at such an angle and situation that he suffers a near miss, but would have been unable to determine the cause of the problem anyway

And finally, after doing all these resoundingly stupid things, he then proceeds to put his video on the internet

He either had a lot of stuff go just right to make himself look like a lucky idiot, or it's staged

ScattergunBob says ...." its dark down there either way " ....well said buddy ....

and I'm still chuckling ..../ and shaking my head .....

( But on a serious note - out of 60 or so young guys in my grandson's fraternity house at the Univ of WA / only him - and one other - has ever fired a gun of any kind !! ) ....and I'm doing what I can to fix that ...with some safety lectures / familiarization - and 3 or 4 of them at a time...to a local handgun range - and out to shoot some sporting clays --- and these young guys are all smart young men from 18 - 22 yrs old / coming from all over the country ( midwest, south, northwest, east coast....etc )....

There are just a lot of guys out there that have no idea what they're doing around guns.../...lets hope he gets smarter ...before he dies ...

It's a fake. Compare the damage on the inside of the bill to ejecta depicted on the video. There should be visible damage closer to the bills attachment to the cap. He keeps his forehead coverd with his hand and that suggest he was at least hit with hot gasses. Why are we shown damage to a cap but we are not shown his forehead? Like scattergunbob says, who looks down a barrel with a closed receiver?

The most telling part is the manner in which the shooter and gun were oriented to the camera. If the shooter really wanted to see down the barrel and was too stupid to open the receiver, he would have tilted the muzzle towards the sun. The shadows indicate that the sun is far from its zenith, which would require the barrel to be tilted towards the camera at a pretty tood angle, but to do so would require shooter to stand between the camera and the gun were he to look down the barrrel. IOW, the camera was originally set up with the intention of filming the shooting misadventure.

I am also pretty sure I noticed some missing pixels in some frames that should be in others. this is in the dark area behind the shooter. Such a dark spot might aid in faking the shot.
