picked up 2 hicaps NIB for my Ruger at the gunshow weekend before last. got it out to the range, and 11 out of 15 FTF's.. took them apart. enough grease to lube my car (why do they do that?) whats recomended for lubing up mags and followers (some kind of plastic), I'm thinking Tetragrease, comments? sugestions? oppinions that I'm out of my mind?

If you must lube the mags, I recommend the dry spray-on lube. I've found a number of mags that have lots of grease in them, first order of business is to clean all of that out!

For some reason I'm reminded of a used AR-15 20-round mag I picked up. Overall it was in excellent shape. But I found the interior of the mag body thickly coated with white grease. It looked a little like it had been fished out of a can of Crisco. I could never figure out why it was greased up. I mean, an aluminum mag doesn't need to be rustproofed, and if the follower was sticking (as it didn't seem to be) that much grease would have made it worse. Strange!

thank you all.. things have changed much in the last 20 years...(since I got out of the Service)

I'll run em dry and see if that improves things..
