What do you guys recommend for a sprue plate lube?

liquid graphite works for me, most guys use bullplate(i think that's what its called) you can get it from a guy on cast-boolits.

Stihl synthetic two cycle oil. Very,very little on the tip of a Q-Tip.

Just dry graphite. I take a pencil and shade-in the top of the mold and the bottom of the sprue plate with it before I preheat the mold. You can quickly add more when casting if needed and it won't migrate to the cavities. You can also use the pencil tip to scrub off any small specks of lead you might smear while casting, as you are still casting, and the mold won't have time to cool down.

I too, use Bull Plate and synthetic 2-cycle motor oil. I also use the 2-cycle oil for my "speed green" lube (3-1 beeswax to oil by weight).
