Just pick up my Taurus Tracker 44 mag. today from gun dealer.

Gun had been fired from firing cases they collect. Also there was usual oil from manf. processes on same.

I checked the cylinder play procedure and found her tight.

Now when opening five chamber cylinder on cylinder side towards shooter
there,s a rotater star rough filed in at factory . This rotates cylinder when cocking hammer back.

Question? Do you lube this star and if you do, what do you use?

Yes. A drop of light oil on each shoulder and wipe off the excess. There needs to be a drop wiped around the inside surface of the frame also. Enough to leave a shine of oil film.

Sir Williams,
Thanks for your reply. Could a very light coat of gun slick instead of oil in this mentioned area be used?
I have one hip holster that fit this revolver but it,s brown. Need one that is black. Other question is does this style revolver classified as a n-frame. This is so holster size I order is correct.
I tried to fit Taurus in my holster that once carried my 41 Ruger and found it to tight.
Don Hume holsters for S.W. 29 model frame size work ok?
Was looking at Don Hume Double Nine (H721) for fit with S.W. model 29\
44 mag.. 4" barrel. Would this item be ok to purchase for this Taurus?

I respect your imput and knowledge on revolvers.

appreciate, Boomerdog
