LTC Poly coated .357 dia.

Is there a company that makes Lead Truncated Cone or Round Nose Flat Point Polymer coated bullets with a .357 diameter with a weight of 115 to 125 grains? I can find .356 and .358 but no .357. The reason I ask is because I want to try them in a Beretta 92FS that was slugged at .356.

Would it be safe to try .358 diameter? I have plenty of those for my .38 Spl.

Yes, tried the .356 but they leave leading, more so than I think should be. Accuracy is fine, but leading bothers me. With the same bullet company, using the .358 in my .38 leave zero leading. Matter of fact, I was amazed at how clean the bore was after 50 shots. But in my 9mm using the .356, after 50 shots it looked terrible.

A decent poly coated bullet shouldn't leave any lead in a barrel. Is the fouling lead or mebbe poly? I have fired PCed bullets in my 38 Spcls sized the same as I size for my 9mms; .356" w/o fouling...

Load up a .358" bullet and see if the cartridge fits the chamber. If so, shoot a few and see if you like the results...

Is the fouling lead or mebbe poly?

Kind of hard to tell, as I'm new to poly coated bullets. I know it's difficult to remove, so I'm assuming it's lead. Wouldn't poly in the bore be easy to clean?

Might just try 10 rounds of .358 in my 9mm to see what happens? I see on the Beretta form that quite a few guys shoot .358 because so they say, Beretta bores tend to run on the "larger" size as compared to other 9mm.

That would be my recommendation as well. My SW439 shoots standard .356" lead just fine, but if yours does not, I'd skip up to .358, the next standard, and give it a try. Many places will cast special sizes for you, but you are going to pay for it, and in many cases, it's just not necessary.

Can't help with the fouling. The 1200 Precision Coated, Hi-Tec, nor the 1,000 bullets I have PCed leave any fouling in my barrels (.38 Special, .357 Mag., 44 Mag, 45 ACP, 9mm, 30-06).

The .358 diameter LTC Poly bullets in my 9mm Beretta 92FS was the answer. I loaded 15 rounds to give them a try at the range this morning. Accuracy improved quite a bit, and cleaning was very easy. I loaded them over 3.2 grains of Titegroup, to the crimp groove of the bullet, and used a medium taper crimp. Nice that I can use the same bullets and powder charge in both 9mm and .38 Spl.

Now I'm stuck with 1500 pcs of .356 diameter RNL Poly bullets. Maybe I can trade them at the next gun show to the Lady that makes them.

Thanks for all the replies.
