LSWCHP in LCR ?

i've shot some pretty stout loads out of my lcr. it wasn't super fun. a steady diet of them might be one thing, over the course of years. but so far no the worse for wear. but like i said, it wasn't super fun.

I don't see why it couldn't handle the old FBI load. Now if you can handle the FBI load out of a lightweight 38 spl remains to be seem. ;)

no offense but if the lcr couldnt handle the fbi load, its well not safe to shoot. i believe it was proven with the kframe 357 that the fbi load is safer on a gun structurally then the fireball/atomic 110-125 grain loads that replaced it for police duty.

either way, get a box of ammo and range use it. if it DOES hurt the gun, i think ruger would send you a gi foot locker full of redhawks as consolation. seriously its ok.

I got some 1000 fps Buffalo Bore .38 +P LSWCHP's for Christmas and my LCR ate 'em up! I saved half of them for social work.

I think you've got the FBI load and the Treasury load mixed up. The FBI load is a +P loading and will be no harder on a Ruger LCR than any other .38 Spl +P. The Treasury load, however, consists of a 110gr JHP loaded to +P+ pressure. This is a very stout loading and should only be shot in .357 Magnum revolvers.
