Low recoil #1 buck?

Does anyone make a low-recoil #1 buckshot cartridge in 12ga? I've decided I like the performance of #1 better then #4 and #00 buck, but it seems like manufacturers only make low recoil slugs, #4 buck, and #00 buck.

Doesn't look like it.

I also would like some reduced recoil #1 buck, but it seems that all that's available is #00 and #4, with some makers like Remington dropping even the #4 loadings.

We need to start writing makers and asking for #1 reduced loads.

At least its not just me. I haven't have a chance to try any of the low-recoil 00 shells yet, but everyone seems to report they pattern better then most regular rounds. Better pattern and quicker follow up, or the ballistic characteristics I want.....I guess I'll go with the first option.

So I'm looking here:

Anyone know what the difference between:
FEDERAL TACTICAL 12 GA LE 133 00 - Part Number #12GA-LE133-00
and
FEDERAL TACTICAL 00 BUCKSHOT LAW ENFORCEMENT HIGH ENERGY-LOW RECOIL #12GA-0030, 0040

They have different part numbers so I'd think its something.

Yeah the slugs I bought were the Federal Tactical LE types low recoil 2.75s with blue casings. They also had 00 for sale same brand. Recoil was good, nothing excessive and alot less flash and fire then what ive seen with other brands. Will hopefully try the 00 soon, but have to go to another range to try them, as mine is slugs only.

One thing I've noticed about most of the Low Recoil ammo: It usually produces much tighter patterns.

While this is great for police use, it MAY not be such a good thing in a true home defense gun.

The typical home will offer about a 30 FOOT shot, max.
At those short ranges, you want as open a pattern as you can get, not a tighter pattern.

I still want some Reduced Recoil #1 buck.

Well thats where I'm torn. I think tighter is better if you have any penetration concerns of others in the house. If I wind up having to go with 00 for low recoil, I'd rather have a tighter shot than have strays from an odd pattern zipping through the walls. At least thats my theory, but I'm open to suggestions to the contrary.

#1 regular
or
#00 low recoil...lets get a 8 page thread going :D

For what its worth I've also turned this up:
"Be advised that the new Fed. LE 132-00 has the FliteControl wad that tightens patterns considerably---like 7 to 9" at 25yds! The Fed. 133-00 8 pellet load would be good for HD"
