Low cost ammo?

I know this question has been asked before in one form or another and the search I did resulted in some older posts that might have out dated info cuz of their age. So what I am looking for is the most inexpensive places to buy brand name ammo. I saw a lot of posts that list Wal-mart as having some of the best prices but Im looking for the best bulk prices for 500 to 1000 rounds in .45 ACP that also has a good price for shipping. Other than speciality ammo in smaller quantities, I dont really buy much ammo online, so I dont know of any sites you can trust with good prices.

As you stated, WalMart has good prices. I typically pick up a box of Winchester white box 100 count for a little under $30. Best deal around that I've found, and I've never had feeding problems with it.

I get ammo wherever I can find it. Know what you shoot and what the average going price is and then snap up deals when you find them. For example, I like Magtech .44 mag JSP's. Normal price is about $27/ box. There is a little pawn shop in Georgia that I stop by whenever I'm up there. Their normal price for the same stuff is $21/box.

The gun shows in your area are probably your best source / but I wouldn't buy anyone's reloads because you have no idea what's in them - and I'd bet they have no insurance for manufacturing ammo, god forbid you got hurt or damaged a gun - I think you'd be on your own. I reload my own ammo - but that's a different issue - and I know exactly what I'm putting in them and the quality control checks I go thru.

Some retail outlets will give you 10% off if you buy a case - so at least ask for a case discount ( Joes, Big 5, etc ) - but these days its going to be hard to find anyone that has much inventory. Wal-Mart is ok / some of the gun dealers in my area carry MagTech in case lots - and its competitively priced.

+1 for Natchez. Cheapest I've found.

50 round box of Aluminum cased CCI Blazer 45 ACP is $12.99. If you buy 10 boxes of Independence .45 its something like $12.47 a box.

Have found Natchez and Wideners to have good prices. Both are reliable with reasonable delivery charges and ship promptly.
