Love my Wife

My wife cracks me up sometimes; others, she just makes me fall ever deeper in love with her.

I've had a S&W 637-2 that's been my constant companion for the last ~8 years. I keep it loaded with 135 gr Speer Gold Dot ammo, and figure it's enough for "most" self-defense situations.

After all, the idea is to get away, right?

"Cept with the recent trouble here on the border, I sold off a handgun I hadn't shot in years, and used the money to buy a Glock 23. I figured the S&W would become back-up, or I could use it for more "discrete" carry.

Anyway, this morning my wife asks me, "So, are you going to start carrying the Glock full time instead of the .38?"

I replied (not sure what she was getting at), "Yeah, that's what I figured on doing."

So she says, "Ok, I'm taking the .38 then."

She's had her CCW permit for almost three years, but hasn't carried for almost a year. Believe me, nothing could make me happier than her claiming my tried and proven carry gun. She shoots it well with open sights, so with her abilities and the CT Lazergrips that are on it, I feel like she's pretty well heeled.

I've been smiling about it all day.

I'm right with you on that one, greatest feeling ever when I was checking out guns with my girlfriend tagging along when out of nowhere I see her drooling through the glass at a little pocket pistol. Never thought I'd see her excited over the thought of carrying.

My wife and I got our CCWs in January. We purchased 2 SW model 340, one for her and one for me, our carry guns. I also purchased a SW model 686 with 4 inch barrel. This gun is normally my range gun and is usually on the upstairs night stand. Recently my wife asked if there was a smaller version of the "big gun". I dutifully replied why yes - there is a 2 1/2 and a 3 inch barrel. She says we should consider getting one of those for keeping on the 1st floor.

I've been married to this lady for 31+ years and she is the greatest. There ani't much more sexier that a women wanting another 357 around. I think she is a keeper.

Awesome, my wife is taking interest in shooting. We just bought "her" XD9sc and she refers to it as her gun lol. I'm thinking she may be interested getting a CCW soon, but a few more range trips will tell me for sure. It's nice she's sharing another interest with me.

My wife has bought me several guns over the last few years but never showed an interest in them until we bought a little Beretta P950 .25 cal. She applied for her carry permit a couple weeks ago and is learning to shoot the Beretta. I think when she gets better with the .25 I will see if she likes the Ruger .380 I saw the other day. I will feel better if she's packing a little more punch than the .25

My wife had never fired a gun until January 1, 2007. Now, she can run 50 12-gauge shells through her pump gun in less than a minute (staying on target), she qualified as a Rifleman at Appleseed, she's an NRA-certified RSO and has assisted in women's intro to firearms classes, and she carries a 9mm and a .357 Magnum every day. We have fun together, but I'm always very careful to be nice to her. :p

Picked up my second SW model 686 today. Previously had a 4 inch barrel, new one a 3 inch barrel. My wife liked it because of the wooden grips. She wants to keep in in the end table drawer as her house gun. I agree that is fine with me. I cannot wait to take it to the range and I'll leave her with the SW model 340. My wife - I think I'll keep her.
