Lose Kalifornia but win the nation?

As a temporary Kalifornian, I am so sick of hearing about how "no one can lose California but win the election".

I am kindof hoping that Gore wins Kalifornia, but Bush wins the election, so these people can shut the hell up about how influential Kalifornia is. I am tired of seeing politicians pander to Kali because they think it is the only way to win the election. Fook Kalifornia. The rest of the nation (I hope) is going in a different direction than Kalifornia, and I really hope that Gore wins Kali and loses the election just to stuff it in the faces of these arrogant idiots in Kalifornia.

No one in their right mind really believes Kalifornia will determine the election; it will be over before reaching the Mississippi. It didn't determine the election in '92 or '96 and it won't today.

I think it's just desperation among the media since their boy is going to lose.

But it is surprising that Kalifornia is now in play, especially considering AlBore was so far ahead a few weeks ago.

We shall see.

Do you live in Cali?

Just wondering because the people around here, from the TV people to everyone on the streets just thinks that Kalifornia is the be-all-end-all badass political shockwave. They are really hyped on themselves in thinking that California is a leading power in politics, constantly blabbing about how many electorals we have and how no one can lose Cali and win the election.

I just want to see them get it stuffed in their faces. California needs a wake up call. They do NOT speak for the nation. In fact, most of the nation thinks California is friggin whacko, especially in politics. But, Californians are so delusional that they have themselves convinced that they are leading the country and that everything California does is the direction that the nation is going. I think that was true for a short while, but no longer since Cali has gone so far left.

I see that you do live in Cali, and you are right: no one in their right mind thinks that California will determine the election. But Californians in general are not in their right mind! ;)

Along those same lines, nothing has been sweeter than watching the 49'ers fall on their faces the last couple of seasons.

Anyone see that New Yorker Magazine cover some years ago that showed the United States from a New Yorker's perspective? Manhatten is in the foreground and in glorious detail, while as it gets further from NYC, the country becomes featureless and colorless. That's how CA sees itself. I love CA's land, but I hate many of the self-absorbed people who live and pollute the place.

If Florida does, indeed, go to Bush, DerGlockenpooper's dream will become reality.
