Hey guys, i have a question what is a good fit for a shoutgun and how can u tell? i have the rem 870 HD i recently had it coated and im trying to make this gun an extension of myself, it is almost there but im not sure if the LOP is right for me, i think its a standard 14" lop but not positive but it is the factory syntehtic stock with the R3 recoil pas that coems with it, i guess what im asking is there a way to measure what a good length of pull for myself would be, im 5'7 135 lbs. Look forward to your posts, and thanks for your time guys.

I measure from my 2nd knuckle on my forefinger to the inside of my elbow while my arm is bent at 90 degrees.
Seems to work fine for me.

Mount the weapon after you've checked that it's empty. If there's enough room between your nose and the base of your thumb to insert two fingers, it's about right.

HTH.....

I have been searching for a professional stock fitter locally and so far cannot find one. For me it is for trapshooting for a new Beretta. Anyways, if you would like an eye opener and or would like to know "how (and why) a shotgun is fitted to the shooter" there is a book you can buy. The book is by Rollin Oswald, here is his website: http://stockfitting.virtualave.net

I purchased this book about 1.5 weeks ago. Excellent book on the subject and the only one of its kind that I know of. Answered many, well pretty much all the questions I had. As an FYI, I am a client (purchased his book), I do not know and am not affiliated with Rollin Oswald.
