I recently purchased a Weatherby Ultralight 280 Remington. The rear swivel stud is loose.
I can tighten it up, but then it's not aligned perpendicular to the stock and will twist loose when I use a sling.
I could try to turn it tighter until it lines up on the next rotation, but I'm concerned with tightening it too hard and stripping/breaking the screw. Someone said I should use some loctite.
The scope is sythetic, the nice looking gray/blue one. I really like the rifle and don't want to damage it when I'm fixing this minor problem.
Any suggestions will certainly be welcome.
