loose screw, what to do?

Using the search function, it seems loctite is not a good idea to solve a loose screw problem. So what would work on solving a loose front sight screw?
 
I use Locktite 242, it works for me. Nail polish will do in a pinch, I remove any oil with denatured alcohol first.
 
What gun, what kind of problem? Is the sight factory or a replacement?

There are some front sight screws that are held by too few threads to stay put, even with Loc-Tite.

Is it a stock front sight, or aftermarket? If it is not stock, you may not have a long enough screw. If you have the correct screw and it is long enough, then loc-tite should work fine. I often use it on gun screws with no problems. As long as it is not an adjustment screw that you will be needing to use all the time it's no problem.
