Loose butler creek rifle scope cover

Hey,

My flip up cover on the front objective is not quite snug. After a dozen shots or so it falls off.

I was thinking of just wrapping hockey stick tape around the front objective to build it up a little to give the cover something to grab onto.

Does this sound like it would work or is there something else I should be looking at like glueing it on or taping it directly on?

Thanks

It sounds like you do not have the right size cover for your scope. Don't think I'd use hockey stick tape probably would mess up finish on your scope. Regards

Had a simular problem as a number (6) was too loose and a number (5) was too tight. I really do not know where you are on yours but I went to the (6) but before I installed it, wiped all the oil off the bell and inside of the cover and applied some standard issue rubber cement on the inside of the cover. This worked out well for me, can still remove if I wish and won't hurt either.
Be safe !!!

At least one of my scopes has black electrical tape under the scope cover.

Who cares about the finish? Are you ever going to take the cover off and enter your gun in a beaurty pagent?
