Looks like Detroit and Wayne county are suing!

Just to inform everyone that Wayne county and probably Detroit have decided to sue the firearm manufactures. I didn't see anybody post any info so I decided to. I watch Detroit's newscast and it was the top story today, also a gunstore had 18 handguns stolen which made a great second story for the anti's. I try to keep up on these things, but maybe someone can correct me here, but I believe they are suing for different reasons than the other cities.(More like the one in NY where the gun manufactures were found liable. Anybody know when the appeal is coming up for that case???)

I don't want to get off on a rant here and tell you my opinion on these lawsuits(which I'm sure we all agree on) so I will spare you all.

I mean this is abuse of the courts and.....
O.K. I said I would spare you.

Yes, they're suing. Despite the mayor's clear statement just a couple weeks ago that they weren't going to. Obviously just a ruse to keep the state preemption bill on the back burner, and I am going to have some words with my Rep. as to why they let such a simple ploy work; If they hadn't wasted all that time on a capitol punishment drive everyone knew would be defeated, we could have headed this off. But, NO, our issues are a lower priority than doomed PR gestures. (You might gather that I'm pissed.)

Amazing. They're suing the same manufacturers who provide their city police departments with the guns used to protect the citizenry. The word "schizoid" comes to mind, but it's really too nice a description.
