Looking to refinish a stock which oil to use?

Any pics of good tung oil finishes vs. boiled linseed oil finishes? I am looking to refinish an old Savage 340 stock. I like the looks of a nice glossy finish; can this finish be achieved with either of these oils or should I plan on varnishing the stock to get the nice finish I want?

Pics of good finishes will be very helpful. Thank you.

I recommend Birchwood Casey TruOil. You can find it in sporting goods stores.

TruOil is a linseed oil with hardeners added. It will quickly give you a good finish that wil resist solvent, oil, and will protect the wood well. It is simple to use, a little harder to use well, and downright difficult to use properly.

Truoil looks good, protects stock,on last coat I don't use steel wool to buff down as they suggest it leaves a shine however over a few months of drying/ use that changes and what remains to me is an extremely good looking finish.
