Looking to buy a 22 pistol with threaded barrel

Hey guys Like the title says I am looking to buy a 22 pistol with a threaded barrel. I plan on picking up a suppressor. My state just passed a law to make it legal to own one. I own or have owned Walther PPQ, Springfield xd, Ruger and glocks. What I want is a good target pistol that I can put a suppressor on from time to time. What are a few good 22 pistols with a threaded barrel for up to $500?

I wouldn't call it a target pistol, but my Ruger SR22 has a threaded barrel and is a fun, reliable, and accurate little pistol. I can't vouch for it's functioning or reliability with a suppressor since I've never shot it with one.

I have 2 that i use for suppresor hosts.

1. GSG 1911 in 22lr. Has a Gemtech thread mount and works good. Very fun as it mimics a 1911 in all respects

2. Ruger 22/45. This is my favorite, hands down. I put a Burris fastfire reddot on it and it is just plain FUN

I currently run a SWR Warlock can and its perfect on a pistol for weight and balance.

My buddy has a 22/45 Lite and its a crazy light weight package that way.

If i was doing it over i would get a Ruger 22/45 and put a Sparrow or Spectre can on it. Those cans are MUCH easier to clean and you will end up cleaning a 22can alot

Prob a toss up between the 2.

Maybe a slight edge going to the 22/45 due to after market support. Out of the box you will be happy with either one.

Not a target pistol, but the S&W 2214 would be a good candidate for a silencer because the barrel is lower than on most autos.

[The SR22] is the Ruger that I have now. It doesn't have a threaded barrel tho.
Sometimes owners of small .22s like yours don't realize that they already have a threaded barrel. Many SR22s already have threaded barrels, but the threads have flush-fit thread cap installed so it's not always obvious; the barrel protrudes normally from the slide and you can't see the thread cap unless you look closely.

In order to thread on a silencer to these threads, all you do is take off the thread cap and attach a 1/2x28 adaptor (often includes with the gun).

Of course, it's very possible that you already know this and you really do have one of the SR22s that doesn't have a threaded barrel, but I just wanted to keep you from buying another gun if you already have one that's set up for a silencer.

Theohazard sadly it does not. I have thought about getting a threaded barrel and a adapter for about $150. I like shiny new tings tho :D still might

My favorite suppressed 22 pistol is my Ruger Mark III Target. Unfortunately they do not offer it with a threaded barrel, but it can be done for $100-$150.

I would also suggest the 22/45. We have both standard and Lites with threaded barrels and they are great. I have a Volquartsen Trigger in my Lite as well as the LCI and mag safety deletes...totally different gun without that crap on them.

The Lite is very light, so make sure you know what you are getting. For some people, the Lite is too light, or twitchy, and their accuracy suffers...but I do prefer the Lite to suppress.

I have a few that I run with a "can".

1. Ruger 22/45 with a Tactical Solutions pac-lite upper. I also had the original barrel for this threaded and use that occasionally, although it starts getting heavy with the can on it compared to the pac-lite upper.

2. SIG Mosquito

3. Smith Wesson M&P22

4. SIG 1911/22

I would say all are fun in their own way so it's hard to pick a favorite. I would like to add a SR22 in the future as well. Good Luck!
