Savage made these in various combinations and models. Most common is 22LR over 410, they were also made in 20 gauge and 22 Magnum. Good guns for the most part, but not very light. One I had ran over 7 lbs. I fitted a peep sight and used it for small game, woods running and a truck gun.
The 22 barrel was quite accurate. 50 yard groups were dime sized with the right ammo, and by sheer coincidence the 20 gauge barrel shot Rottweil Brenekkes to the same POA at 40 yards. Most were plainly made, oft with roll "Engraving" on the receivers. These were made first by Stevens, then by Savage when they acquired Stevens in the 30s.
For reasons I do not comprehend, these utility guns are prized by collectors and not as much by shooters. Get one and exercise it frequently.
