Looking for wisdom before being stupid (trigger job)

I have a P22 and I think I've found a way to improve SA trigger pull. Please, give me your opinions on feasability.

The hammer is dented and a piece of metal (the sear?) holds it cocked. The sear goes up as trigger is pulled and after a while release the hammer. The well (on the hammer) in wich the sear is in cocked position is very deep. I heard you should not file anything down and don't want to do this. But if I fill the well, to make it shallower, the travel should be shorter. If it's filled too much, I can always file down the filler. (I really don't want a full auto pistol)

I've thought filling it with nail polish or epoxy glue. Is it stupid? Is it not bad? Wich one will hold longer, is safer? Would something else be better?

Thank you

Holy sh*t! I personally would recommend not even giving it more thought. Take it to a gunsmith, but i'd recommend never putting glue in a gun. Or nail polish for that matter. Good luck, be safe.

Prior to doing any thing to a tool, which is what your gun is, you should find out from a manual what you can do or cannot. if you have no experience with gunsmithing go to one an dlet them do it. It is safer this way for all.
