Does anyone have access to, or know anyone who can get a set of these grips? In case I can't post a photo, go to the S&W site and look at the 686. It has the rounded synthetic finger groove grips. As do most of the other guns you'll see. Checked with Smith, and they said there is no inventory on those grips. But surely they can be gotten somehow someway. Help me out here folks, I really want those grips for my 66-4 2 1/2". Thanks everyone

I would think they are Pachmayr grips, since they sometimes make them for Smith & Wesson factory guns when they don't use wood grips. I have seen plenty of those pictures, but aside from the J frame, haven't seen an actual Smith with those grips on it. The closest thing I know of is Pachmayr's Diamond Pro grips. They look very similar, but have the rubber outline and more pronounced finger grooves.

You have pictured two different grips. The top one is a conventional round butt. The bottom pic is a conversion grip.

These are very similar to your bottom pic:

They're known as "conversion grips" because they convert - if you will - a round butt into a square butt.

I have two Smith's with the original conversion grips. They're nice. On one gun (M67) I left them on (after trying others, I went back to them). On the other (M686), I replaced them with Hogue bantam style grips - for maximum concealment (I carry it). But yes, they are nice grips.

I have been trying to find the same grips. They are the new S&W grips, I may just call S&W and try to get them also.

Those are 'J' frame Pachmayr grips. They do fit on short barreled 'K' frames like you 66, but not 4" + barrels. Different grip frame.
