Looking for that "right" semi-auto

I'm looking for a semi-auto that:

1. will cycle 7/8 and 1 oz "lite" loads. (no more sore shoulder)
2. very low recoil is important (wife wants to shoot)
3. is easy to strip down for cleaning
4. is reliable in a wet enviornment (Florida)

The Benelli Vinci and Beretta Xtrema 2 seem to fit my requirements. Comments on this or other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You didn't say hunting or target. I'll guess hunting from the choices in your post. However, the lite loads you talk about speak target.

Here are two to look at:

1. Benelli Super Sport or Sport II
2. Remington 1100 Competition

the extrema 2 is a big gun. judging by your light load requirements, you don't need a 3 1/2" gun. look at a 391.

The Benelli's will cycle 7/8 or 1 oz loads as long as they are 1200 fps - which to me is a light load .......but it depends on what you mean by a "light load".

I would add a Benelli Super Sport ( synthetic stock, with comfort tech system in it )/ the Super Sport is my only semi-auto these days in 12 and 20ga. Its a good travel or rain gun / does everything pretty well - bird hunting, sporting clays, skeet and some Trap. Its not a great Trap gun, in my opinion, because I can't get it's point of impact high enough to float the target ... but I don't use it as a "dedicated gun" for any single game either / but its a very versatile gun - that I would buy again.
