Looking for Tactical Pistol.

I am looking to buy and outfit a tactical pistol. I need a threaded barrel, picatinny rail for a light/laser, nightsights, and the higher capacity the better. Right now I am leaning towards the Sig 226 Combat pretty hard. The Mec-Gar 20rd magazines make it even more enticing.

So basically I am looking for suggestions on good models, suppressors, holsters that fit with a light, and things like that. Also if you have experience with the 226 combat please let me know the pros and cons.

I've always had a curious fascination (curious for me because I'm a blued steel and walnut kind of guy) with the HK Mark 23 SOCOM though they're quite spendy.

Just out of curiosity, what is your intended use for this handgun (home defense, concealed carry, fun range toy, etc.)?

Well im in sort of the same boat with you, im looking to upgrade my pistol collection, but i want a weapon i can jazz up a lil bit. Seen how im in the army and currently deployed i get to play with some seriouse power and talk about the latest new stuff for our home collections. Latley Iv been hearing nothing but good stuff about XDM 3.8 40. I had a sgt. of mine go home on leave and while home he bought one. while only on 2 weeks of R&R leave he dumped over 5000Rnds threw it and loves it. Now every conversation is about his XDM. But it has influenced my dicession and i too will be purchesing a springfield XDm when i get back from iraq. Here is a good link for alot of great XD addons and extras. www.pistolgear.com well happy shooting seriously take up some research on this great pistol.

Well for me I want one for a fun range/ run & gun toy as well as home defense. Also I an not interested in the FN because I already have the regular FNP .45.

And for the people who suggested the HK, what do you like about it over others? Also how does it handle to getting wet? All I know is I am not big on the lack of a mil-spec rail.

I love my h&k usp compact, shoots very smooth. I havent had one ftf, fte, nothin. havent really gotten it wet but the new hk 416 can handle it pretty well i hear, so im sure it will be okay.

That Sig sounds like a good choice. S&W also makes a tactical version of the M&P (threaded barrel is pretty much the only change), so you'd have your rail and a high capacity at 17+1.

LOL the ninja plays these cutouts as a flute and steers the bullet left or right where the ninja wants it to go.:D

Tactical or Gimic??????

The more gimics you have, the more crap that can break.

One thing people leave out of "tactical" in K.I.S.S.
