I noticed on the frame where the disconnect pokes through is rough , I don't want to enlarge to hole , what would you use to clean or smooth it up, cleaned it out with a Q tip

CW, you're talkng about a 1911.

You'd be safe wrapping a piece of fine grit sandpaper around a wooden dowel or a punch. 600 grit or smaller should be good.

Before you do anything, look inside the hole.
While it is entirely possible that someone might have buggered it by unnnecessary drilling or whatever and left it damaged. The tip of the disconnector is about 8 or 9 thou. narrower than the hole it fits through, so there is plenty daylight for it to move and grinding around might just cause damage and nothing else.

Steve it is a 1911 ordered another disconnector , will see how it feels with the new disconnect . The hole in the frame looks rough . Will try the 600 , I also have 600 lapping compound . I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill either . I'm sure a custom job wouldn't have been left that rough , don't want to change any sizes only smooth them out .
