I was at the range the other day and talking to a guy . he had these rubber strips that held six rounds of 357/38. I asked where he got them and he couldn't remember. They were nice to put in you pocket not like the round speed loaders. Does anyone know where to get them? I went to the two shops nearby and they didn't know what i was talking about. thanks

Thanks You guys that was what I wanted. I oredered 3 sets from dillon and will be shipped in 48 hrs. I saw was it the 55o(?) reloadereveryone was talking about. I haven't gotton into that yet. thanks again :)

On this subject, has anyone seen or heard of one for a seven shot? I would like a pouch or strip but they are all for 6 shot.

Speed Strips are kinda like the original Model-T Ford.

You could order it in any color you wanted, as long as it was black.

Speed Strips are nifty, as long as you want .38/.357, six round. Period. No options.

Personally, I'd sure like to have a few in .45 Colt and .44 Special/Mag. (Though I imagine the .45 and .44 version would interchange.)

Best,
Johnny

I went to dillon..but 5.99 to ship a 6.50 item is ridculous....especially one that could go in a small envelope...I e-mailed them about this...I refuse to pay such high fees and will buy elsewhere....

don't shoot it's me - - -

Agree that shipping charges are a pain, and seem to be pretty expensive, especially for a small item.

In defense of mail retaillers, though, I point out that it does cost them for the padded mailers, and those, in turn, require extra postage. Instead of charging exact prices for each different order, it is time-efficient for them to simply have a standard S&H fee for the basic orders.

One way to cut back on individual shipping costs, of course, is to order several items at once. talk to customer service on their help line (Dillon's is 800-223-4570) and 'splain your concern. I'll bet they ship everything for one fee. While their catalog prices are usually not the lowest prices available on everything, Dillon's customer support is some of the very best available, from anyone. And, I realize, they have to pay the phone line tenders and the printers for the nice catalogs, and so forth. check out the places which tout, NO SHIPPING CHARGES!!! and you'll usually find you're paying a slightly higher per-item price.

TANSTAAFL! (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch--from the writings of Robert A. Heinlein.)

Yes, sir, no use in ordering a bunch of stuff you don't NEED. But, then again, you're also paying for convenience--I know, I personally don't mail-order stuff which I can simply walk into the shop and buy over the counter. That is, unless there's a BIG savings by ordering.;)

Johnny

I pad the $6 or whatever for shipping on a pack of speed strips from Dillon too.

I was outraged when I saw the envelope was regular mail first class with like 50 cents on it. Even with the padded envelope, the printed packing slip and someone to stuff it in -- they were making several dollars additional profit.

I e-mailed to complain -- mostly just to vent -- and got a stock reply that I should try to order more than one item to save on shipping.

Yeeesh.

I understand their cost Johnny...Many places only charge a 3 dollar flat shipping fee for small itmes...I might pay that but I can't bring myself to pay almost 100 percent on shipping...one of the things I like about buying on line is saving the tax..but I won't spend 5.99 to save .75 cents....

From a died in the wool Red Green type: M-14 strippers make a dandy .45 ACP speed strip, only 5 rounds though. (Learned that from a gun rag). A junky old 1911 mag with the front relieved works well too. For .38/.357 I recently discovered that an SKS stripper works fantastic, could prbably crimp it off to hold 7 or 8 as you preferred and have the rest for a handle.

Not that anything would ever go wrong with a Speed Strip

I just wished to point out one 'advantage' of paying retail at Dillon's. Their "NO B.S. Warranty" is just that. IME, they apply it to everything they retail, not just the products bearing their name.
