Looking for some place to live....

With the direction this country is headed I am thinking about leaving before it gets to a police state. I was trying to come up with a place to live but I can not think of anything. I want a country where a hard working man can:
-support his family without working 60 hours a week.
-not be forced to support generations of lazy people.
-own a firearm to protect his family.
-have the freedom to do as he pleases on HIS own property.
-have a government that is trust worthy.
-join the military and not end up on welfare.

My grandfather told me about a place like this. I have been looking for my whole life. All I found is 2 jobs for about 65 hours a week, while others just go collect a magic check.Twenty page forms to be filled out in triplicate to get a two shot revolver with a ten pound trigger.(I live in MA) An over priced house that I need to get permission from the town to put up a fence. A military that pays so poorly that I had friends on food stamps and wic to feed their kids. And a government that is so corrupt and self serving it makes me sick.

Has anyone heard of this place I'm looking for? Where did it go and where can I go to find it?

There are a lot of countries like that, but I think you need a time machine to get there.

Belize, IMHO, fails on points 1, 2, and 5.

Good luck, and if you find it let me know.

Bolivia, I believe, has no firearms laws. No idea about the rest of it. Costa Rica is supposedly nice. Hard to immigrate there but possible. Also fairly Socialist. There are countries in near-anarchy like Columbia that you ought to be able to do just about as you please. Kind of dangerous for the family though.

Don't know what the answer is unless a group of freedom lovers want to take over a country like Guyana. There's someone 'floating' the idea of building a huge ship that would sit in international waters (sorry, bad pun day). It won't work, of course.

You're stuck here with the rest of us. Besides, with the NWO advancing on all fronts, Socialism will be at your door in a few years anyway. Here and now is as good a place as any to make your stand.

Is there a realtor in the house? :)

It's either here or nowhere. Things aren't better anywhere else in the world, and most places are much worse. Even if things were better somewhere else, I'm not giving up on America. Solution? Make a difference--pray, vote, join the NRA, the GOA, take a close look at the Libertarian Party, refuse to be one of the "sheeple," and commit to making this country truly great once again. You're either part of the problem, part of the solution, or just part of the landscape.
I'm part of the solution. And I'm staying right here.

Perhaps if Texas and Alaska would secede from the union we could all have a progun summer home and winter home state?

I beleive that Antartica is still unclaimed. ;) Though I see it fails item 6. And possibly item 1.

If you're male and under 12 years old, you can try Neverland, Kalifornia. Ask for Mike Jackson.

Freedomlover-

I am part of the solution but it's an uphill battle and somone put oil on my shoes. I do vote and I am a NRA member. I was just wondering how many people have reached the point that I am at. I am not ready to give up but it seems that we are trying to stop a stampeed with a chicken wire fence. When will it end? When will the rest of the country wake up? Soon I hope.

Good question Danny O,

I believe the best bet is to sell your house and buy a boat, when TEOTWAWKI comes. Think of the possibilities of freedom on the sea. Just make sure your firearms can withstand the salt air.

If you're a land lover, You need to get in touch with Paladin Press. There are many optoins to actually dropping out of big brothers radar. IMHO the first step for you is getting out of the Peoples Republic of Massakennedy. Run away.

And most importantly : VOTE.

DannyO, I've been where you are now, ready to give up, ready to forfeit my American citizenship if there was only a better place to go. But the reality is, there IS no better place to go. The freedoms that we still currently enjoy in America are unparalleled anywhere else. After realizing this, I realized the foolishness of running away from my country in search of greener pastures. I love America too much to walk away from it. And because I love it, I what's happening to it...but despite what anyone else says, there is hope for this country. I simply refuse to believe that we have gone so far "downhill" that there's no turning back. Don't buy into that defeatist mentality. There's hope because there are many people out there and right here on TFL who are committed to positive change--a return to Constitutionally-limited government and the restoration of our Constitutional rights. If nothing else, the existence of the Libertarian Party should be an encouragement that others feel the same way you do and are working to make a difference. Your signature seems to indicate that you're one of those who believes in making that difference. Keep the faith! (And keep your powder dry.)

By the way--ever heard of a book called "101 Things to Do 'Til the Revolution?" Check it out sometime; you might find it very interesting.

George, doesn't South Africa have a rule that you can only own 1 gun? Parrish the thought!! :) Seems there was a recent NRA infomercial that touched on that point. Other than that though, you are right.
