Looking for scope suggestions

I'm trying to find a scope for a Howa 1500 mini in 6.5 Grendel, but not really finding what I want. At 7 lbs and 41 inches long, its a small rifle, so I don't want some 16" x50 scope towering over the top of it. Standard use is open fields out to 300 yds, but I don't want to rule out using it for stalking in wooded areas. Open to suggestions...

Requirements:
Power: Minimum low power 3. Minimum max power 14 (would go down to 12 I had to). Maximum max power: Infinity :D
Objective: Thinking a 40mm is about right.
Parallax: Must be adjustable.
Turrets: At least .25 MOA per click. I like the ones on my Vortex Viper than I can pull up and reindex to zero.
Reticle: Mil-dot for elevation AND windage. (BDC is NOT the same as mil-dot)
Tube: 1" would be nice to keep the weight down, but 30mm is just fine.
Length: I think finding something under 14" is a reasonable expectation.
Price: $300 or less. I have a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 on a benchrest gun that works great for me. I got it for $325 on sale at Cabela's, so finding something like a 3-14x40 under $300 is not unreasonable.
Quality: Not a POS

What fits your specs and price is a Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14. I have a couple of them. It’s a lot of scope for the money.

Mine are the older model without windage indicators. Longest shot on a coyote, using the BDC dots, was 400 yards. Same distance for a hog. The BDC worked great.

You might want to give the new Leupold VX Freedom 4-12X40 tri-moa scope a look. Not a mil dot, but...
Light weight, good glass, and coming in under $300.

I'm really thinking this is what i'm getting for my "new" Ruger 77 MKII in 280 Rem.

My Howa 6.5 Grendel Mini Action Light Weight has Talley rings and an older Nikon 3-9 on it now. I want more magnification but want to keep the weight down so I am seriously considering getting an Athlon Argos 3-15x40 with the BDC 600 reticle for more magnification plus it's only 12oz and 12.2" long. I have a Nikon with the BDC reticle on my 22LRs and really like them for quick target acquisition.
