Howdy,
I've recently started bouncing around the idea of getting a .22 plinking rifle and had a chance to shoot a friends gun that had a "varmiteer" or heavy target barrel. I was pretty impressed, it seemed more solid than some of the other cheapo .22's I'd fired in the past. Anyway, so I decided that I wanted a bolt-action .22lr with the heavy barrel. I found two that looked interesting and also stayed in my price range. Those being:
Marlin 880SQ and Savage Mark II-FV
Now, I was hoping to get some opinions, insight, advice from some folks that had some experience with both or either guns.
What I do know about em:
Marlin: Around $200, has some trigger "problems" out of the box, 41" overall, 22" barrel, 7rd clip
Savage: Also around $200, 39.75" overall, 21" barrel, 5rd clip, but aside from that I don't know much
Thanks for any info/opinions/etc you can share,
Will
